Designed for educators and career specialists seeking to advance their knowledge and boost impact in workforce education and training, this program equips you with the skills to lead the way in helping secondary and postsecondary students connect learning with real-world career development in their chosen discipline.

You’ll explore the history of career education and gain insight into future trends before diving into the basics of curriculum planning and implementation, as well as strategies that prepare learners for high-demand careers. Your coursework will equip you to design effective learning experiences, support career readiness initiatives, and lead programs that strengthen communities and industries.

Our curriculum equips you to gain expertise not just in career and workforce education but also a technical specialization, from workforce development or college and career services to business, health, and industrial occupational education. Depending on whether you prefer to go on to a doctorate program or become a practitioner, you’ll also choose between completing either a research report or program-approved internship — all while under the mentorship of expert faculty.
